About Kenzie
I’m Kenzie and I’m the owner and founder of Hidden Gem tattoo studio. I started out as a self-taught tattoo artist several years ago now and found myself falling in love with the method of handpoking tattoos. Having always had a background in the arts, when I began my journey into tattooing I trained as an apprentice in machine tattooing, as well as piercing, but veered away from both of these skills to hone in my focus on handpoke. It’s the oldest method of tattooing and there’s something about the simplicity and history of it that drew me in; I adore being able to keep this ancient craft alive.
Nearly four years ago, I took the leap to open my own private tattoo studio (the OG Hidden Gem, as some of you may know!) and from there it just ricocheted into what has been built today! I’m so eternally grateful to have such a fulfilling career as an artist and even more so to be surrounded by other like-minded creatives and individuals. Thank you to everyone who has supported me to get to where I am today and to those who are looking into getting a tattoo now! We look forward to having you in our little slice of heaven, Hidden Gem.

Kenzie's Style
Handpoke Tattoos
Kenzie specialises in handpoke tattooing. Unlike machine tattooing, handpoke is applied by hand, one dot at a time, making it a gentler, less abrasive process with faster healing times and less discomfort during the appointment.
The result is a tattoo with a distinctive quality to it, slightly softer, organic, and full of character. It suits fine line and illustrative work beautifully, and clients who have experienced both methods often find themselves converted.
For anyone nervous about their first tattoo, or anyone who has found machine tattooing uncomfortable in the past, handpoke is well worth considering.
